A Gift of Reflection…& Strategy For Your Business This Holiday Season
You may have heard me say this before but it's worth repeating...every year, it's vital to examine your accomplishments over the past 12 months, set clear goals for the following year, and create a strategy to make it happen.
Yes, this will take a few hours (or maybe even a few days) to complete, but the results you'll see one year from now will be worth it...guaranteed!
The first step is to write down your achievements – this is vital! That includes the big contract you landed, the new program you launched, or the way in which you stepped out of your comfort zone. Big or small...write them all down.
Many people tend to re-live the negative experiences in their lives...but this is your opportunity to bask in the joy-filled moments and that's imperative to begin setting your goals for the future.
Next, it's time to stretch...
Yes, step out of your comfort zone in 2018! Start by looking at how much money your business brought in this past year. How much more would you like to see in your bank account this time next year? 10%? 25%? 100%?
Whatever your answer, you need a clear strategy to make it happen.
- How many more sales do you need to make?
- How can you make those sales and deliver your products/services so it's not taking more of your time?
- What new products, services, events, programs, etc. can you add – stretch here – to make it happen? What are the types of "things" your ideal client is actively looking for? (Don't be concerned with the "how" of doing these things at this point – stretch your imagination so you can serve your market better.)
Finally, the third step is to create an action plan – break each new "thing" down into tangible, doable steps (and this is where you'll look into the how you'll do it. Be sure to include the dates to make these steps happen. If you're not sure how to do a particular task, find someone to help you. All you have to do is ask!
If you want to change your outcome by this time next year, you must change your strategy to get there. And that may mean getting out of your own way and asking for help! Every successful entrepreneur knows you can't do it alone.
