Ever catch yourself thinking, “Sooner or later, they’re going to find out I have no idea what I’m doing…”?
You’re not alone. That nagging feeling has a name—Impostor Syndrome—and it doesn’t discriminate. In fact, it’s often most common among high performers, deep thinkers, and go-getters. The more you learn, the more you realize there’s still so much you don’t know. That’s wisdom talking—not weakness.
Here’s the kicker: feeling like an impostor isn’t a sign that you’re unqualified. It’s a sign that you care. That you’re invested.
But here’s what’s not okay: letting those feelings keep you stuck, silent, or small.
I’ve been there too. A few years ago, I found myself comparing my programs to those of another well-known marketer. When someone told me what they learned at her workshop—and it echoed exactly what I teach—I had this jolt of validation. I mentioned it to my coach, and to my surprise, he laughed. Turns out, he had coached her too—and she had the exact same self-doubt I did. That moment? Game changer.
If you’ve been battling self-doubt lately, I see you. And I’ve got five simple shifts to help you shake it—and reclaim your confidence.
1. Celebrate What’s Working
Make a habit of writing down at least 3–5 wins from your week—big or small. This quick reset reminds your brain (and your heart) that you are making progress, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
2. Comparison Is a Confidence Killer
There will always be someone doing it differently, flashier, or with a bigger audience. But guess what? They’re not you. You bring something to the table no one else can—your voice, your story, your approach. Don’t measure your worth using someone else’s metrics.
3. Know Your Value—and Own It
Grab a sheet of paper and list 30 ways you bring value to your clients, customers, or team. Push past the obvious and go deep. This exercise doesn’t just boost your confidence—it gives you language to use in your marketing, conversations, and pitch.
4. Stretch Past the Safe Zone
The only way to expand your confidence is to test it. Say yes to a challenge, raise your prices, share your story publicly, teach something you’ve mastered. Even small steps outside your comfort zone can lead to major breakthroughs.
5. Be Real, Not Perfect
Perfection doesn’t connect—honesty does. Share your journey, including the messy middle. When you show up fully as yourself, you build real trust and magnetize the people who need exactly what you offer.
The truth is, you’re not an impostor. You’re evolving.
Let the fear be a sign you’re playing bigger—and then do it anyway.
