Marketing Strategies that Work!

5 Easy To Do Steps To Increase Connections & Gain Greater Profits This Year

It’s the new year and the perfect time for a fresh outlook as you look at the year ahead. We often get caught up in the day-to-day busyness of our business and neglect what seems to be staring us in the face. And I’m referring to not checking the branding face you’re showing the world online. Set time aside this month to ensure you’re on track for success.

#1. Review Your Website

Take a few minutes to read through your website – yes, the entire website.

  • Is the content still relevant, and is it clear? Is it compelling?
  • Will your target audience easily identify with your message?
  • Are there any broken links (and be sure to check links in your blog posts)?
  • Does your About page need updating?
  • Is your contact information correct? Do you include your telephone and email contacts and not only a form?

#2. Update Your Social Profiles

Next, you’ll want to look at all your social profiles and ensure they are current as well. Your social platforms should be used to drive traffic to your website. Know which works best for you – the ones you have the most engagement.

  • Evaluate your profile sections to ensure they are up to date.
  • Ensure your contact information is correct.
  • Click through each profile to your website. Does the branding match? If not, there will be a disconnect for someone ready to engage with you, and they’ll go elsewhere.
  • Is your profile picture reflective of the platform you’re using and the image of who you are today?

#3. Evaluate Your Offerings

You may have been selling the same programs and services for years, but is your heart still in them today? If not, it’s time to shake things up.

  • Eliminate offerings that no longer feed your passion.
  • Check your competition to see what they offer and how you stand apart.
  • Review the content of the programs you still want to provide to ensure they are relevant in today’s market.
  • Look at your prices. Is it time for an increase or time to hold a blowout sale?

#4. Review Your Pink Spoon

Your Pink Spoon (think Baskin-Robbins) is your lead magnet – that taste of you that entices your ideal clients to subscribe, and hopefully learn more and buy from you.

  • Is it time for a branding overhaul?
  • Is it still relevant?
  • Is it working…or is it time for something new?

#5 Develop a Content Strategy

Your content strategy includes your blog posts on your website as well as contributing to other blog sites, email marketing, social posts, and PR.

  • Create a content calendar for the next month. I prefer doing this one month at a time, but you may choose to do several months at once.
  • Schedule what products/services you’ll promote to have consistency across all platforms.
  • Design each post with your brand in mind.

This is a good time to ensure you’re putting your best foot (or your best face) forward – and showcase your brand in the best light. Taking a few minutes today to review these areas could bring increased profits in the weeks ahead.
